Who is Brownie? Is Danny Allen really afraid of the City? Is Little Fur real? Do peregrine falcons really live in nests made of rocks? Is Ishmael Leseur’s Syndrome a real disease?

If you know the answer to any of these questions, then you’re going to be a champion at Books and Bites! If you don’t, read up and get ready for the challenge of the year, ‘cos it’s officially game on!

This brand new live theatrical game show, developed especially for Come Out 09’s literature program, divides the audience and popular children’s authors into two teams to battle it out live for ultimate victory.

MC Cameron Goodall leads the teams through a series of readings, games, quizzes and challenges based on selected children’s books written by the team of authors. The only question left to answer now is… Whose team will you be on?

How to Participate

2. On booking, a summary will be sent to you with full details of how to participate in Books & Bites including - the rules of the game, your class (school) team allocation and an author/book list

3. Encourage your students to start reading! The more books you get through the more you’ll enjoy the game!

Meet the Author After the show, take part in a 45-minute workshop with one of the celebrity authors. You can discuss your favourite books and discover new ideas about books and writing.

To be eligible for Meet the Author workshops, your students are required to attend Books & Bites. Small groups only (max. 50 per workshop), bookings on a first in first served basis. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
